Lynzy Lab is a Texas-based choreographer, performance and visual artist, educator, and activist who uses her creative work to bring awareness to important social issues, and who strives to promote positive and lasting change in the world through her art. In early October of 2018, Lynzy posted a home video recording of her original song “A Scary Time (for Boys),” which went viral overnight, landing her several public speaking and performance opportunities, including Jimmy Kimmel Live! and a TEDxWomen conference in Lausanne, Switzerland. She is currently featured in InStyle Magazine’s Badass 50 issue, alongside such notable badass women as Michelle Obama, Padma Lakshmi, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Viola Davis, Rachel Maddow, and Hannah Gadsby. Lynzy is currently on full-time faculty for Texas State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance, and spends every summer teaching and mentoring young artists at The Performing Arts Project, which she co-founded in 2011. TPAP is a non-profit summer arts intensive geared toward building confidence, practicing curiosity and generosity, failing forward, and serving the community. It aims to provide access and full financial support for young artists who are otherwise unable to afford it.
